Open Day Chauffeur — Cambridge, Oxford & Durham
Yorkshire families visiting Oxbridge open days without the parking chaos — driven door to college gate, waiting on the meter or leaving and returning.
Open Days at Trinity, St John's or Magdalen are a car-park lottery, and Cambridge's Park & Ride buses can eat 90 minutes of your day. A chauffeured open day means you're at the porters' lodge on time and back in Yorkshire the same night.
Booked by ambitious Yorkshire parents in Year 12 open-day season (July, September). Also for Sixth Form interview visits in November/December.
Home → A1(M) → Cambridge (M11) or Oxford (M40) → return same day. 3h30 to Cambridge, 3h50 to Oxford.
The silver Mercedes-Benz V-Class is a luxury MPV seating up to 7 passengers with generous luggage space. Share passenger and luggage details when enquiring.
Full day out — leave 06:30, return 20:30. We wait between sessions if it's easier.
Cambridge return £725 · Oxford return £745 · Durham return £340 · Warwick return £625.
- Drop and pickup at the specific college — not the university boundary
- Silent-driver option so you can talk the student through the interview
- Waiting time on-meter for interview days — usually 45 minutes
- Return route via a quiet lunch stop of your choosing
- Full-day rate — no clock-watching if the day overruns
- Trinity College Cambridge closes its main gate to visitors after 17:00 — worth timing
- St John's Oxford requires an appointment for the porters' lodge — book two weeks ahead
- Cambridge Park & Ride is free but adds 40 minutes each way
Will you wait during the interview?
Yes. Standard interview slot is 45 minutes; we're kerbside 10 minutes before it ends. If it runs long we simply wait — the day is booked block, not per-minute.
Can you do multiple colleges in one day?
In Cambridge, yes — the colleges are 10 minutes' walk apart. In Oxford, one or two colleges plus lunch is realistic; three is a stretch.
Durham is 90 minutes north — a half-day. Same rate structure but a much shorter day out.
