Tasting without a designated driver
The whole point of this day is that nobody has to stay sober for the drive. Over about 75 miles and seven hours we visit Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery at Hunmanby for its single malt, Cooper King Distillery at Sutton-on-the-Forest for gin and whisky, and finish at Black Sheep Brewery in Masham.
Lunch sits between the first two stops in Helmsley or Malton, and the chauffeur waits throughout, so bottles bought at each shop go straight into the boot.
Collecting from Harrogate or York
Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon and York all make good starting points. From York, Cooper King is the closest stop; from Harrogate, Masham works well as the final visit before a short run home.
Cars for tasting groups
Groups of friends, stag celebrations with a gentler pace, and corporate teams travel in the V-Class, which seats up to 7 adults. A couple on a birthday or anniversary day takes the silver Mercedes-Benz V-Class. The tour runs year-round, and dinner at The Yorke Arms makes a fitting end.
