What Is Actually Included in a Chauffeur Booking?

Exactly what a chauffeur quote covers: fuel, insurance, waiting, tolls, refreshments and licensing, plus the charges some operators add afterwards.

A line by line account of what sits inside a chauffeur quote, what is passed through at cost, and the extras other operators add at the end.

The gap between a quote and a final invoice is where most bad experiences in this trade begin. Our position is straightforward: the figure you agree is the figure you pay, and the only things we ever pass through separately are costs set by somebody else. This guide sets out what that means in practice so you can compare us properly against anyone else you are considering.

Inside every quote, without exception

Fuel and mileage for the agreed itinerary. Full private hire insurance for you as a passenger. The chauffeur's time, including the repositioning run out to you and back afterwards, which is real cost that some operators hide and then recover elsewhere.

Our silver Mercedes-Benz V-Class is a luxury MPV seating up to 7 passengers with generous luggage space, suited to executive groups, airport transfers, weddings and events. Umbrellas in the door pockets, which in Yorkshire is not a flourish. A vehicle valeted before your booking rather than between jobs on the same day.

The chauffeur, the licence and the checks

Every booking is driven by a licensed private hire driver, working under a private hire operator licence, in a licensed and separately insured vehicle. Our chauffeurs are enhanced DBS checked, which matters more than most clients realise for school runs, medical appointments and unaccompanied family members.

Presentation is part of the service rather than an upgrade. Suit and tie, door service, luggage handled at both ends, and no conversation unless you want one.

Waiting time and schedule changes

On airport work, flight tracking and a waiting allowance after landing are included. If your flight is three hours late, the collection moves with it and the price does not.

On day and hourly hire the car waits with you for the whole booked window, so a meeting that overruns or a lunch that becomes an afternoon does not generate a surcharge. Where a booking genuinely extends well beyond the agreed window we discuss it with you at the time rather than presenting it afterwards.

The short list of pass through costs

Airport car park charges for meet and greet collections, because they are set by the airport and vary by terminal. Venue access or parking fees where a venue imposes them. Occasionally, on long multi day itineraries, the chauffeur's overnight accommodation, which is always shown in the original quote rather than appearing later.

That is the complete list. There is no fuel surcharge, no card fee, no cleaning levy, no per bag charge and no gratuity expectation.

How to compare two quotes honestly

Ask three questions of anyone quoting: is waiting time included, are tolls and charges included, and is the price fixed if traffic is poor. A cheaper headline figure that answers no to any of those is not actually cheaper.

Ask also what happens if the vehicle breaks down or the driver is ill. A single owner operated business should be able to tell you exactly which partner operators cover it and to what standard.

Is waiting time included in a chauffeur booking?

Yes. On airport work a waiting allowance after landing is standard, and on hourly or day hire the car waits with you for the whole booked window at no additional charge.

Are tolls, congestion charges and parking included?

Tolls, the Dartford crossing, congestion and clean air charges are inside the quoted price. Airport car park charges for meet and greet collections and any venue imposed access fee are passed through at exactly what they cost.

Is a gratuity expected?

No. Our pricing is set so that the chauffeur is properly paid without one. Clients who wish to tip are welcome to, but nobody should feel it is anticipated.

Do you charge for luggage or additional stops?

Luggage is never charged for. Additional stops agreed when you book are priced into the fixed figure. Stops added on the day are accommodated wherever the schedule allows and discussed with you at the time.
